    The position of Archives Technician is located in the Information Services Unit, National Wildlife Research Center (NWRC) for Wildlife Services. The mission of the NWRC Archives Technician is to collect, preserve and make available the research records and materials that document the history of the NWRC.

    The duties may include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensures proper maintenance, storage, control, and record management of materials.
    • Provides research assistance.
    • Assists the archivist/records manager in the identification of official records.
    • Process, arrange, describe, catalog and create finding aids for NWRC archival records.
    • Utilizing professional image preservation and conservation techniques: process, arrange, catalog and create a finding aid for the NWRC image collection.
    • Remain current on professional digitization practices and implement those practices on targeted digitization projects.
    • Provide user access and outreach through the implementation of online exhibits, presentations and other planned activities.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Travel for training and work assignments may be required.
