Summary

You will serve as a Administrative/ Technical Specialist in the Security Division, Corporate Operations Department of NAVSURFWARCEN IHEODTECHDIV.

The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including GS 14 equivalent (high grade) positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary will be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $123,062).

Duties

Help
  • You will serves as Special Security Officer (SSO).
  • You will work in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and will be responsible for the day to day management, control, operation, implementation, use, and dissemination of SCI within the organization.
  • You will implement physical security program policies and procedures in order to ensure an adequate security posture; and conduct inventory of all classified and unclassified holdings.
  • You will oversee Special Security Representatives in the performance of their duties.
  • You will review and processe personnel investigation forms for Special Background Investigations and Updates using Joint Personnel Adjudication System and Defense Information System for Security and eQIP.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower level pay band NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical expertise and management oversight of information security policies and procedures within an organization.
