Duties

Help
  • The food service worker serves as a food service provider helping in the preparation, presentation and the serving of light food items offered for sale to patrons. He/she may perform any or all of the following tasks associated with food service work
  • Works behind the counter and sets up and/or replenishes food and hot/cold drink and specialty items, and the associated condiments, for a food service/snack bar operation.
  • Serves light food items requiring little or no preparation time to patrons from a service cart at a beach side resort property location. Items sold may include hot dogs, chips, ice cream, shaved ice, pretzels, nachos, and cold refreshments.
  • Performs, a variety of duties incident to the maintenance, cleanliness, and sanitation of the area to which assigned. Cleans counters and trays, outside tables for diners, washes utensils, and maintains cleanliness of the work and display areas.
  • Complies with proper procedures, methods, dress, and hygiene codes. Responsible for the correct operation and care of equipment
  • Expected to work as scheduled, knowing what steps or sequence of steps are needed to complete work. Some judgment is used in maintaining established standards of sanitation, safety, and service
  • Is responsible for taking orders and providing the proper order and change. Is responsible for the safeguard of inventories and change fund/bank.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
  • A one year probationary period may be required
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually
  • Satisfactory Completion of Pre-employment background Checks in accordance with AR215-3, 2-15j(1) to include a medical examination. Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Work requires light to moderate physical effort, lift and moves item weighing up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds with assistance
  • Work area is often hot and noisy, and there is exposure to sun, minor cuts and bruises, burns and scalds. There is danger of slipping on floors which are wet from daily mopping or spilled food or beverages.
  • Must be over 18years of age at time of employment
  • Must have a Valid Drivers License
  • Citizenship eligible under country SOFA agreement
  • This position is subject to an irregular tour of duty, which may include nights, weekends, holidays and seasonal work

Qualifications

Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade including but not limited to:

1. Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
2. Ability to keep things neat, clean, and in order.
3. Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
4. Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
5. Knowledge of basic sanitation principles.
6. Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
7. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals in order
to takes orders and provide change; and determine the number of portions required.
