Summary

You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Detonation and Combustion Technology Branch or Ballistic Test Branch within the Research, Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) Department of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14.

Duties

Help
  • You will perform work as a senior electronics technician in support of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation activities dealing with explosives, propellants and other energetics.
  • You will develop and maintain instrumentation and electronic systems related to research and functional testing of energetics.
  • You will provide expert advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, peers and sponsors on specific technical aspects of equipment, systems and concept development.
  • You will lead teams in all phases of the Research, Development, Test and Evaluation process including proposals, test planning, cost estimating, test fixture design, test execution, test reporting and project management.
  • You will plan and coordinate individual or team assignments to meet project goals.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13, Step 10; currently $126,062.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experienced to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical electronics work in support of environmental, functional, detonation or combustion testing of ordnance items.
