Help
  • Serve as a primary team member in the development and implementation of strategic communications plans to create an understanding and commitment to the PEO corporate strategy and command goals and objectives
  • Serve as an official spokesperson for the command when dealing with the media, establishing and maintaining rapport with representatives of local, regional, and national news media organizations
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct a proactive national media relations and community relations strategies that promote understanding of the mission and contributions of the PEO among the general public
  • Exercise policy and direction over public affairs activities and provide guidance in the development of local policies and situation-specific policy guidance
  • Performs the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as performing duties that include: 1) Providing direction, establishing policy, and coordinating media relations for a government public affairs program; 2) Developing and implementing strategies to inform varied audiences, such as public and other federal agencies, about mission, program, and activities of a command/organization; and 3) Serving as an official spokesperson for a government organization when dealing with the media. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03/GS-13).

  • You will be required to undergo a background investigation leading to the successful adjudication of eligibility for Secret security clearance. Derogatory information developed during the background investigation, such as a criminal history or an adverse credit history, could render the selectee ineligible for both the security clearance and continued employment in the position, if already appointed.
  • This is a DoD Demonstration Project position. Under the Defense Authorization Act, personnel management demonstration programs are operating in numerous Army activities and various other organizations supported by Army civilian personnel centers. Under the streamlined personnel operations for demonstration projects, the familiar 15 General Schedule grade structure is replaced with broad pay bands that typically encompass a range of grades. For example, acquisition jobs in level NH-04 of broad banding encompass the traditional GS-14 Step 1 through GS-15 Step 10 grades. Other initiatives under the demonstration projects include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process, and expanded developmental opportunities. PEO Soldier uses salary control points within the salary range to allow for differentiation in the level of positions within the same broadband. Therefore, the salary for the position will be set within a range from $114,590 to $157,253.
  • PEO Soldier utilizes Supervisory Cash Differential as a tool to incentivize and compensate supervisors based on organizational level and scope, difficulty, and value of the position. Once all eligibility requirements and conditions are met, the incumbent of this position may receive a Supervisory Cash Differential NTE 10% of the employee's basic pay (basis pay defined as pay without the locality rate) IAW the organization's Business Rules. The Differential is paid on a pay period basis with a specified not to exceed date of one year or less, is reviewed every year, and may be terminated or reduced as dictated by fiscal limitations or changes in assignment or scope of work.
