Duties

Help
  • You will identify social media and internet-based channels for use in communicating themes and message to key audience.
  • You will edit and approve web-based content prior to publishing on the Internet and multimedia sites.
  • You will research formal and informal methods (e.g., social media and World Wide analytics, survey, polls, content analysis) to determine emerging trends or issues.
  • You will create written responses to inquiries from media groups or the general public concerning program activities.
  • You will review dissemination of information to ensure compliance with established policies.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identify, plan, develop, and implement web-based communication strategies and/or programs to support a department's mission, programs, and policies while also meeting the needs of an audience; 2) Analyze programs to identify the characteristics of target audiences to determine the most effective web-based or social media communication techniques to use in reaching an audience; 3) Utilize written, oral and visual communication techniques and methods in providing advisory services to upper management and other various audiences; and 4) Create and edit graphics, image, and multimedia files using various photography and videography equipment and software tools.

Education

You may substitute experience with one of the following education options:

  • Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
  • Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
