Duties

Help
  • Serves as senior specialist in the Cyber Field Office?s headquarters Digital Media Examination and Analysis team and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining various IT systems and workflows.
  • Researches, drafts, and coordinates digital forensics bulletins and cyber vulnerability reports.
  • Develops and deploys standardized toolsets and provides operational maintenance and support of DCIS Cyber Field Office networks, servers, networking and IT Security equipment, servers, workstations, tools, and other required systems.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining operating systems baselines for servers and workstations.
  • Deploys, to include making court authorized entries on to a suspect?s property (e.g., house, office, warehouse, vehicle, vessel, aircraft, etc.)
  • Maintains knowledge of the laws of search and seizure, and regulations, restrictions, and policies that govern the collection of digital evidence.
  • Maintains the DCIS digital forensics equipment baseline, ships and receives digital forensics equipment, maintains DCIS digital forensics software inventory, and assists in with accountable property management.
  • Obtain and maintain digital forensic certifications required by the field office and other certifications if so required by DoD or federal policy.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as:- designing, implementing and maintaining various technical systems and workflows required to facilitate, defend, and advance the agency's mission
through intrusion investigation, digital forensics, electronic discovery, and development, operation, and protection of the agency's enterprise digital media examination and analysis systems from external/internal intrusions and malware directed against its networks, IT Security equipment, servers and workstations., and IT-related experience demonstrating Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving as described in the vacancy announcement.
