Duties

Help
  • You will develop course curriculum or training plans appropriate to the subject matter area.
  • You will develop course materials (e.g., study guides, visual aids, simulations, tests, training aids, or other material) to support instruction objectives.
  • You will interpret schematics of electronic communications equipment circuitry to locate and identify internal and external parts (e.g., wiring, cables, or similar electronic parts).
  • You will counsel trainees on progress and classroom decorum.
  • You will maintain current student records to support training programs for an organization.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Due to electronic wiring within the equipment, the safety of the inidividual and any student requires the instructor to be able to distinguish color differences.
  • The work requires standing, includes some walking, sitting, bending and carrying of light items such as papers and books.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing instruction in classrooms and laboratories for Naval Combat Systems (e.g. Navy Apprentice Technical Training (ATT), Electronics Technician, Fire Controlman, Interior Communication Electrician and/or Gunners Mate); 2) Performing practical exercises in advanced electronics, navigation, operations and/or seamanship to demonstrate troubleshooting techniques; 3) Utilizing General Purpose test Equipment to test and isolate electronic systems and malfunctions; 4) Creating curriculum and generating written tests to evaluate student performance.
