Duties

Help

  • Participates in the administration of grant applications and active grants, in such duties as screening applications to assist in determining eligibility and reviewing reports of funded projects.
  • Provides guidance to prospective applicants on the division's grant programs and application process.
  • Assists Humanities Administrators and managers by preparing written materials for panels, meetings of the National Council, and other division meetings and developing statistical information on applications and awards.
  • Gathers information for press releases, Web features, and dissemination through social media, and for responding to Congressional inquiries.

At the GS-9 level Qualified candidates must possess:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level or a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.S. or J.D., if related.

Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: Experience assisting with grant program administration; maintaining data through automated systems; applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques; ensuring compliance with policy, terms and conditions.

At the GS-11 level Qualified candidates must possess:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral graduate degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: Experience assisting with grant program administration; maintaining data through automated systems; applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques; identifying administrative problems and recommending possible solutions; monitoring programs, budget allocations, and obligations; ensuring compliance with policy, terms and conditions.

1. If you are an eligible Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) applicant you may apply for special selection over other candidates for this position. To be well-qualified and exercise selection priority for this vacancy, displaced Federal employees must be rated at 85 or above on the rating criteria for this position. 2. If you are a veteran with preference eligibility and you are claiming 5-point veterans' preference, you must attach a copy of your DD-214 or other proof of eligibility. If you are claiming 10-point veterans' preference, you must attach an SF-15, "Application for 10-Point Veterans' Preference" plus the proof required by that form.
