The AASD is responsible for helping customers with their acquisition process by rendering the necessary technical, acquisition, and financial experience to develop and manage the acquisition of services and products.
As a Branch Chief and second level Supervisory Contract Specialist, you will be responsible for the management and oversight of Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) programs for GSA customers within a specified geographical area for the Assisted Acquisition services. A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.

Knowledge and skill in providing advice on policy, technical training, expert troubleshooting and addressing the full range of other professional matters that arise to ensure the most effective and efficient operation of branch contracting activities.
Knowledge and skill in monitoring branch program measures and results, participating in the development of work measurement systems on a regional level and as requested, communicating national procurement initiatives and goals and performance standards to individual employees.
Knowledge and skill in following up to ensure employees are meeting their goals or taking positive action to improve performance. Knowledge and skill in ensuring the timely completion of work of satisfactory quantity and quality by carrying out various supervisory tasks.
Knowledge and skill in setting objectives for the Branch, determining the most efficient and economical manner by which to accomplish assigned workload, establishing priorities, allocating workload across subordinate sections, and providing positive direction to subordinates on goal attainment and methodology.

If your certification is over 2 years old, 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points are required to maintain certification.

(a) FAC-C or DAWIA Level II or higher certification (copy of certificate)
If certification is over 2 years old, also submit (b) or (c) below:
(b) Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) history identifying the completion of 80 CLPs every two years. The 80 CLPs every two years must be from the issuance date of certification to current period.

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications.
