    This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, Animal Genomics and Improvement Laboratory, in Beltsville, MD.

    Major Duties may include, but are not limited to:

    • Participating in research focused on investigating genotypic and phenotypic traits amongst livestock and estimating trait economic values.
    • Utilizing data collection systems to create genetic rankings for livestock improvement research.
    • Assisting with implementing and conducting research projects related to animal genomics and improvement.
    • Collaborating with others to assist in the development of software tools and documentation required for research based genetic evaluation systems.
    • Programming and using computer analysis software to perform genetic data analysis.
    • Using various statistical techniques and procedures to edit and analyze genomic and phenotypic data.
