Duties

Help
  • Serves as an authoritative source of program clerical-administrative issues and provides guidance to the Resident Agent in Charge (RAC) and management on investigation-related administrative issues.
  • Manages, manipulates, and inputs extensive data into a variety of databases.
  • Independently conducts queries and compiles information and data into reports, graphs, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Reviews internal and external correspondence and investigative documents for compliance with agency policies and regulations, accuracy in form, appropriateness of content, and grammatical correctness.
  • Serves as property custodian and oversees the management of accountable property, supplies, and disposition of excess property.
  • Manages and tracks suspense dates and deadlines, to include monitoring compliance with agency procedures and requirements involving training and supply purchases.
  • Establishes and maintains files and records.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement: Must be able to type 40 words per minute.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-6) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Using an automated database input and track extensive data; reviewing correspondence for accuracy and content; developing reports and graphical illustrations from available data; placing supply and equipment orders through applicable vendors; and managing travel arrangements for staff.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
