    Responsibilities

    District Utilities Consultant for the OEH&E field office in Tempe, AZ. Coordinate and advocate for IHS involvement in O&M activities.

    • Provide in-depth consultation and technical assistance to IHS engineers and environmental health officers, tribal officials, and utility operators in the design, operation, and maintenance of water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities;
    • Conduct, review, and coordinate sanitary surveys of tribal water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities;
    • Prepare or lead preparation of comprehensive operation and maintenance manuals;
    • Organize, promote, and conduct training classes for tribal operators; and
    • Acts as project engineer in the planning, design, and construction of sanitation facilities on as-needed basis.
