    The Biologist serves under the supervision of a designated Wetland Agency Expert, and performs duties which assist in carrying out a coordinated natural resources conservation program tailored to customers' needs.

    • Provides assistance to producers and other NRCS personnel on wetland conservation activities associated with the Swampbuster provisions of the Food Security Act, as amended. Works with senior specialists to develop expertise to perform wetland determinations, make maintenance evaluations, and to perform related activities.
    • Gathers the necessary data and works in the field with producers and other NRCS personnel to conduct on-site investigations for wetland determinations.
    • Services requests for reconsideration of determinations the employee has issued.
    • Maintains liaison with other NRCS specialists regarding wetland related activities.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Travel is required approximately 15% of the time.
