Duties

Help
  • You will monitor and evaluate the overall safety of hazardous chemicals and materials safety, occupational safety and industrial trades safety.
  • You will represent the command at Health and Safety seminars and conferences as an authority in ordnance safety and health hazards control.
  • You will provide data and administrative support to the coordinator of the Command 's Safety Council and Safety Committee Program and is responsible for agenda preparation, setting schedules for meetings, and drafting of related station instructions.
  • You will draft correspondence for the signature of the Safety Director and the Commanding Officer related to changes to QCCCF safety instructions, formal tenant audits, and QCCCF OSH Safety Policy.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For the GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

For the GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Education

For the GS-11 the following education may be substituted for specialized experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related

THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1125 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 authorizes the Secretary of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to positions in the competitive service at any domestic Defense Industrial Base Facility or Major Range and Test Facilities Base. Competitive rating and ranking of applicants do not apply to the Direct Hire process.
