    This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), National Soil Erosion Research Laboratory, located in West Lafayette, IN.

    Major Duties may include, but are not limited to:

    • Collecting, preparing, evaluating and verifying water chemistry, agronomy, or soils samples and supporting records.
    • Participating in one or more phases of the water chemistry, agronomy, or soils research process by performing a variety of complex technical duties, in a laboratory, field, or greenhouse environment, common to research.
    • Searching for literature pertinent to research for new procedures or techniques to use in the laboratory, field, or greenhouse.
    • Performing the full range of techniques and studies using a variety of specialized equipment (i.e. Colorimetric spectroscopy, ICP-AES, Automated flow measurement equipment , and other laboratory equipment).
    • Tabulating, statistically analyzing, and summarizing data using personal computers and software packages.
