The position is located in the Veterans Benefits Administration's (VBA) Office of Strategic Initiatives and Collaboration (OSIC) and reports to the Principal Deputy Under Secretary for Benefits (PDUSB). The incumbent manages a communications, management, and governance structure to support innovation and collaboration across the VBA enterprise. Coordinates program activities with other VA offices, Federal and State agencies, Veterans organizations, and private industry, as appropriate. Applies open innovation technology platforms and business models to promote cross-functional ideation and enables the organization to develop collaborative responses to mission-critical challenges and opportunities. Incumbent formulates strategies for and recommends implementation plans to the PDUSB for new processes, products, and services that will drive improved internal operations and/or delivery of benefits and services to Veterans. As the Executive Director, OSIC, the incumbent oversees and manages the collaboration portfolios of the VBA lines of business, serving as the communication conduit between the Under Secretary's Office and the lines of business.
