This position is open only to Current Smithsonian Institution Internal Employees of the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) with Federal career/career-conditional status or eligibility.
The incumbent will participate as a team member in the design and development of key Office of Strategic Partnerships (OSP) collaborative initiatives that are properly aligned with the goals and mission of NMAAHC, the department, and constituents. The incumbent, working under the supervision of the Supervisory Program Manager, will work closely with other OSP staff to design, develop, and coordinate key OSP programs and initiatives with a local, national and/or international regionally focused partnership and network opportunities that supports the mission of the museum and the office and fosters a network of collaboration among African American and African diaspora cultural heritage institutions. Duties include:

Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position specialized experience is defined as facilitating collaborations and partnerships with cultural heritage organizations such as African American and/or African diaspora or culturally related museum, library, archive, preservation organizations; coordinating and convening diverse stakeholder meetings; and/or preparing Memorandums of Understanding and contracts.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
