    The Pathways Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent position in the civil service. This position starts at a salary of $33,172.00 (GS-4, Step 1) to $43,119.00 (GS-4, step 10).

    Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Mission Support Director's Facilities and Technology Division in Washington, DC.

    You will work as a Student Trainee under the Pathways Program and are provided on-the-job training and assignments commensurate with your education. You will be assigned a variety of duties intended to provide you with a good working knowledge of the the department programs, policies, and regulations. As a student trainee, typical work assignments include:

    • Performs IT support services to the OFO Users with the Ronald Reagan Building such as installation and relocation of printers, computers, monitors and other associated peripherals
    • Performs a record keeping, and reporting information using a work request system and databases housed in a SharePoint
    • Monitors stock levels for toner, IT equipment (such as monitors, printers, computers, and other related devices)
    • Perform single and multiple data entry and produces various searches, reports and task related activities
    • Provide desk side and workplace IT customer service to various customers and users within OFO
