Summary

Domestic Finance has a number of important roles in the U.S. financial system. These include the Office of Financial Markets, Office of Financial Institutions and its roles in financial stability. This position will involve research, writing, and analysis related to legislative and policy proposals for a wide range of proposals impacting the financial system, that may include financial markets and financial institutions.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Monitor developments in the financial markets, and related legislative, regulatory and policy developments.
  • Conduct research on a wide range of issues related to Domestic Finance, including financial research, legal research, regulatory and policy developments.
  • Summarize findings and research in written products of various types, including tables, charts, short summaries, as well as longer memos, presentations and reports.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    Assisting in preparing written materials, including briefing or issue papers, and memoranda for use by senior officials, including for the purpose of meetings, speeches, interviews, and testimony; AND
    Summarizing findings and research in written products of various types such as tables, charts, short summaries, or longer memos, presentations and reports; AND
    Assisting in preparing responses to Congressional, press or other public inquiries; AND
    Conducting research on a wide range of issues related to Domestic Finance such as, financial research, legal research, or regulatory and policy developments.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Your rating may be lowered if your responses to the online questions are not supported by the education and/or experience described in your application.
