Duties

Help
  • Performs all maintanance and repairs on vehicles which may include buses, vans, and various types of rental equipment with the PASS Autoshop.
  • Independently overseas the PASS Auto Shop in order to plan the activities, develops program priorities, and determines how resources will be allocated.
  • Ensures that adequate levels of repair parts are maintained. Prepares forms necessary to obtain repair. Ensures that monthly inventories of controlled property are performed and reports discrepancies to supervisor as they occur.
  • Insures that safety procedures are followed relative to items stored and issued such as dangerous gases , gasoline, other combustible materials, and hazardous waste products to ensure they are handled in a safe manner in accordance with guidelines
  • Ensures that staff comprehends the proper and safe operation of potentially dangerous items such as gasoline engines, oil, or electrical systems and briefs customers on correct operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Experience and training that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade. Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment. Ability to read, understand and apply instruction and other materials related to the job. Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The work will be performed both indoors and outdoors. Exposed to dust and dirt. May be required to perform in bad weather when having to work outdoors. The worker will be exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, burns, and broken bones from falling objects or when working on ladders or driving a motor vehicle.

This announcement contains a Highly Preferred Criteria:
#1 Degree in Automotive Technology (or other closely related degree)
#2 PA State Inspection License and a current emissions certification
#3 EPA certification to work on automotive air conditioning systems
