Duties

Help

  • Review and analyze all required documentation for applications, re-certifications, program exams and protests for the HUBZone program to determine eligibility for straight forward applications.
  • Provide substantive analysis of documentation to determine whether an applicant is qualified including payroll records, corporate documents, financial records and geographic information to determine program eligibility.
  • Conduct analysis when adverse information is received regarding a HUBZone participant to determine whether the concern remains eligible for continuing participation in the HUBZone program.
  • Compile data and prepare reports as required by the Division.
  • Identify matters related to suspected fraud, waste and abuse.

Qualifications


GS-07: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: assisting in the review of program applications for accuracy, completeness, conformance to established laws, regulations, procedures, rules and guidelines.

GS-09: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: assisting in the review of program applications for accuracy, completeness, conformance to established laws, regulations, procedures, rules and guidelines; applying general knowledge of business documents (I.E. stock certificates, by-laws, tax returns, etc.) to determine requirements for different business ownership structures (i.e. corporations, limited liability company, etc.).

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

If you do not meet the specialized experience requirements, you may also qualify with education. You MUST submit transcripts (official or unofficial) with this application if you wish to qualify based on education.

GS-07: Bachelor's degree and Superior Academic Achievement (SAA). SAA is the completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, related to the position to be filled, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average (2.95 or higher as recorded on an official transcript, or as based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum) or (3) honor society membership; OR
Successful completion of one full academic year of progressively higher level graduate education with coursework related to the position to be filled.

GS-09: Successful completion of a a Master's or equivalent degree related to the position to be filled (i.e. business, finance, accounting), or 2 years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related.

Combination of Experience and Education:
GS-9: Combination of education and experience as specified below.. For example, an applicant who has 1.0 full year of Masters level education (i.e. 50% of education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation may be required for all new hires.
