Duties

Help
  • You will prepare new patient medical records to comply with federal and local regulations
  • You will review patients medical records to confirm information is current, correct, and complete
  • You will perform data entry, data verification, and updates or edits of patient data in computer systems (e.g., Composite Health Care System [CHCS], Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System [DEERS]) to support operations.
  • You will be processing and maintaining health information, compiling or extracting medical records data, and maintaining security and confidentiality of health information.
  • You will use the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) regulations to protect the privacy and confidentiality of patients medical information.
  • You will file and retrieve medical records in accordance with the Terminal Digit Filing system.
  • You will generate reports from a computer system to support operations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least One year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position OR successful completion of at least two full academic years of education above high school.: One year of general experience, such as: Maintaining patient medical records; Gathering and compiling patient data; Organizing and maintaining reports and other medical documents prior to filing in medical records; Providing Administrative support in the maintenance of records.
