Qualifications

This is a centrally managed position that is located in the Logistics career field.

QUALIFICATIONS
: In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-03, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include experience in the recurring manufacture, overhaul, or repair of products or projects using multiple process production methods and procedures to develop information necessary for the control of a complex product and a practical knowledge of the industrial activity, its staff and support operations, the purpose and capacities of the machines and equipment, the type and kind of labor required, a variety of material resources and their cost, to plan for and control the production cycle. Also, understanding the use of product and manufacturing terminology, data, and standards and how to relate them properly to new projects. Additionally, observing and analyzing production operations to determine if schedules are being followed, if they can be improved, and to determining the causes of production delays.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices, and procedures.
  2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
  3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Additional information

Hill AFB provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is primarily sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items such as paper or books; No special physical demands are required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring use of normal safety precautions. Work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, however, the incumbent may be required to move from one issue to the next, with many distractions, which may include but are not limited to noise in the production area.
