As the Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Security), you will:
Provide leadership and supervision of staff and contractor personnel necessary for accomplishing the responsibilities of the IT Security Branch and Headquarters IT Security program. Serve as the Headquarters Chief Information Security Officer with overall responsibility and accountability for the Headquarters IT Security program.
Serve as a senior technical advisor to the Headquarters Chief Information Officer (CIO) and lead projects in support of the CIO. Provide leadership and coordination of IT Security requirements with other IT disciplines. Provide authoritative technical and policy guidance related to the Agency IT security program.
Provide leadership and management of the Headquarters incident response program to include investigation, e-discovery, analysis, and remediation of cybersecurity-related incidents. Advise and brief key officials on information and evidence gathered through investigations and analysis.
Represent Headquarters on Agency working groups to address complex NASA IT security issues and assist with the planning and implementation of major federal and NASA IT security initiatives across NASA. Leads in the development of long-range Agency and Headquarters plans for IT security systems and protection of NASA systems and information.
Provide technical guidance and leadership in the planning, design, and implementation of Agency and Headquarters IT security policies, controls, and capabilities. Lead major Agency IT policy development efforts. Plan, direct, and coordinate the implementation, execution, and evaluation of approved policies, programs and services related to IT systems. Perform feasibility studies to determine the most effective and efficient technology or methodology to mitigate current and evolving IT Security threats.
Provide expert level analysis of advanced technology that will potentially influence the development of new IT industry wide standards, technologies or capabilities. Participate in and lead technology infusion into IT security capabilities.
Develop policies, guidelines, and standards for the planning, development, integration, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and subsystems that meet overall information needs of multiple major organizational units.
Perform monitoring and evaluation of contractor activities on contracts covering HQ systems. Collaborates with vendors and end users to ensure that cyber security and contract requirements are met, and that all activities are performed in compliance with the terms of the contract.
