Summary

  • Salary: GS-11 $68,036 (Step 01) to $88,450 (Step 10); Salary: GS-12 $81,548 (Step 01) to $106,012 (Step 10)
  • The Office of the Solicitor has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. The official worksite for the selectee is the duty location identified in this vacancy announcement. The selectee will typically report to this location on a regular and recurring basis.

Duties

Help

As a(n)Resource and Communications Specialist within the Division of Administration, located in Washington, DC , some of your specific duties will include:

Lead and conduct comprehensive reviews and evaluations of a Collaboration Software Portal system. Working within all levels within the bureau to ensure the content is accurate. Assess existing content and to ensure proper integration and conformance across the bureau.

Establish guidelines for future content, including periodic review and the purging of outdated content.

Manage and facilitate the content for the Office of the Solicitor’s website and ensure the accuracy of the content. Effectively communicate website activity, accomplishments and challenges.

Format and disseminate technical and high-visibility from leadership and Executive level management.

Review and edit content of materials that include federal reports, regulation notices, journal articles and employee retention. Perform final review of materials for style, proper organization, emphasis and editorial aspects before release.

Ability to effectively communicate both oral and written skills are highly desirable for this position.

Qualifications

For GS-11:

Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-11 level:

--One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-9 level work may include: providing administrative and technical support in the design, maintenance, and use of information sharing systems and collaboration software programs; applying a basic understanding of collaboration software platforms and web platforms in order to collaborate with technical personnel; serving as the primary point of contact for website content, ensuring the accuracy of information, and periodically reviewing and purging unneeded or outdated content; formatting technical content; editing materials for factual content; reviewing materials for accuracy, style, and proper organization; and applying an expertise in writing and editing documents.

--OR applicants may substitute successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.M, if related). (54 semester hours, 81 quarter hours, or the equivalent).

For GS-12:

Applicants must meet the following to qualify for the GS-12 level:

--One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-11 level work may include: providing administrative and technical expertise in the design, maintenance, and use of information sharing systems and collaboration software programs; applying a basic understanding of collaboration software platforms and web platforms in order to collaborate with technical personnel; serving as the primary point of contact for website content, ensuring the accuracy of information, and periodically reviewing and purging unneeded or outdated content; identifying requirements and engaging in activities related to public-facing website redesign and maintenance; formatting and disseminating technical, high-visibility, high priority content from leadership; editing materials such as federal reports, regulation notices, journal articles, etc., for factual content; reviewing materials for technical accuracy, style, proper organization, emphasis and editorial aspects before release; and applying a high degree of expertise in writing and editing, especially as relates to legal documents.
