Summary

This position is located in the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Office of Energy Statistics, Office of Survey
Design and Statistical Integration (SDSI).

A successful candidate in this position will serve as a supervisory team leader in Survey Design and Statistical Integration responsible for the initiation, planning, design, and implementation of innovative statistical survey and quality assurance programs.

Help

As a Program Manager, you will:

  • Plan, develop, design, and implement statistical methodology for EIA surveys.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance procedures throughout the agency, thereby instituting the recognition and use of sound statistical methods.
  • Communicate findings from studies and research projects to staff within EIA and to wider audiences, including other DOE components, other federal agencies, congressional committees, the American Statistical Association Committee on Energy Statistics, state and local officials, academia, the press, and other professionals.
  • Seek out new methodologies that are potentially applicable to EIA's activities.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

Experience developing and testing systems, models, and techniques to enhance the overall quality of national and state statistics programs and activities; experience evaluating third-party data for adequacy; experience formulating and implementing solutions for statistical surveys.

  2. Knowledge to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions
  3. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  4. Knowledge of providing recommendations on optimization, efficiency and validity of survey instruments and techniques
  5. Skill to plan and organize work

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
