Duties

Help
  • Providing guidance and assistance to team members on both work and administrative matters while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Helping to lead the development, monitoring, enforcement, and the evaluation of regulations, policies, procedures, State Plan Amendments and other guidelines for States in the design and implementation of their Medicaid prescription drug programs.
  • Participating and negotiating with high-ranking State and Federal officials on issues related to division work.
  • Leading and directing projects to analyze key Medicaid policy issues to support legislative, regulatory, policy, and/or operational initiatives.
  • Facilitating, managing and building relationships with all internal and external Stakeholder groups including States, drug manufacturers, pharmacists, other federal agencies and senior policy makers.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Leading the development and implementation of the Medicaid Pharmacy Drug Rebate Programs (MDRP) policy and operations in support of policies relating to Medicaid coverage and reimbursement for prescription drugs, classification of drugs, Federal Upper Payment Limits, the Federal Drug Rebate Program, drug utilization review, prior authorization, and/or preferred drug lists; (2) Overseeing the Medicaid Pharmacy Programs systems and data collection processes\procedures essential for program administration; and (3) Collaborating and negotiating with senior level officials and stakeholders to develop policies, including litigation.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
