As a Public Affairs Specialist, GS-1035-15, you will lead multi-disciplinary staff tasked with leveraging Office of Communication's resources across all of its program areas in support of the agency's CMS' public affairs strategy with the media, key target audiences, and programmatic stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and administer Agency-wide audience-centered communications strategy and plans that support the most complex, visible, controversial, or politically sensitive national CMS initiative.
- Serve as key contact between Office of Communications and other CMS and Department offices; serving as an intermediary to ensure the goals and objectives of CMS' communications strategies are being met.
- Represent senior CMS officials in high-level meetings, seminars, conferences, and other events as it relates to communications and CMS's goals and objectives.
- Prepare briefings, reports, presentations, and talking points in order to facilitate their participation in public affairs and media relations activities such as interviews, press conference events, press releases, meetings, etc.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel 5% for this position.
