Develops and integrates Knowledge Management (KM) tools, processes and concepts into the workflow of personnel at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center-Information Technology Laboratory (ERDC-ITL).
Provides ITL leadership with new strategies on knowledge management systems and practices on near and long-term changes in user needs and supporting technologies.
Improves integration among information systems in the ERDC organization to facilitate seamless exchange of information.
Provides facilitation and technical expertise in the establishment and nurturing of Communities of Practices (CoPs) within ITL, including workshops, one-on-one guidance, and troubleshooting.
Provides hands-on demonstrations on innovative approaches in knowledge management and technical information management.
Evaluates and monitors sharing programs with the usage of benchmarking.
Disseminates information across a wide spectrum of subjects and fields of highly specialized research communities involving engineers, scientists and other disciplines associated with the ERDC and ITL.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires a Secret Security Clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the BASIC EDUCATION and the EXPERIENCE described below. Specialized experience requirement for Technical Information Specialist (Knowledge Mgmt),
DJ-03 (GS 11/12): One year of specialized experience equivalent to the DJ2 (GS-9) grade level. Specialized experience is defined as: Developing and integrating Knowledge Management (KM) tools, processes and concepts into the workflow of personnel at the U.S. Army Engineer Research Development Center Information Technology Laboratory (ITL). Must have extensive experience within the research efforts of ITL Divisions, Branches, and ERDC Business Areas. Provides ITLs leadership with new strategies on knowledge management systems and practices on near and long-term changes in user needs and supporting technologies. Improves integration among information systems in the ERDC organization to facilitate seamless exchange of information. Facilitates sharing of ideas and work among internal teams and external partners. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
