Summary

This position is located in the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG), DODIG - DIG FOR POLICY AND OVERSIGHT. The DODIG - DIG FOR POLICY AND OVERSIGHT is responsible for the conduct and oversight of investigations into allegations against senior officials within the DoD. The division also conducts reviews, surveys, and studies, when required.

Duties

Help
  • Monitor completion of all APO's projects to ensure they meet regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze project plans, dollars budgeted and spent, measure the strategic contribution of competing requests and flags issues and risks.
  • Prepare real time reports and briefs to the APO AIG and provides status updates on project progress.
  • Develop and provide training in the use of Project Management (PM) software/tools.
  • Conduct reviews and analysis of APO products and services.
  • Identify trends, strengths, vulnerabilities on recurring issues in quality that cross Directorate functional lines and involve individual or multiple projects.
  • Assist in the administration of the APO budget, human resources, and other administrative duties; and in the management of APO administrative operations and tasks.
  • Develop comprehensive plans and strategies for internal/external administrative and operational integration of APO projects, actions and activities associated with the APO and PO mission.
  • Represent PO and/or APO at PO and/or DoD OIG working groups or meetings and is responsible for products required by the groups or meetings.

  • Position has been designated as Noncritical Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
  • Current DoD civilian employees are not required to conduct drug testing if moving from one Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another TDP with no break in service, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
  • If you have not previously successfully completed a probationary period with the federal government in a similar position, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:

Specialized Experience: You must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service. This experience includes analyzing and evaluating methods in regulatory programs; analyzing projects plans, dollars budgeted and spent; developing and providing training in the use of Project Management; reviewing reports for accuracy and conducting reviews and analysis of products and services.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Only experience obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
