Security Clearance: This position has been designated National Security Level IV, Special Sensitive and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain eligibility for a Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access. Applicant must meet and continue to adhere to the requirements of a Tier 5 level background investigation. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination. Continued employment with FinCEN is contingent upon satisfactory completion of the Tier 5 level background investigation, the results of which fully meet the FinCEN's special employment criteria. All employees are subject to satisfactory completion of periodic reinvestigation and a continuing life style in conformity with applicable national and FinCEN directives. Any unfavorable information developed during an investigation or other official inquiry may result in termination of employment in accordance with established security policies and procedures.

As a Lead Security Specialist, you will:

Direct and conduct counterintelligence investigations and briefings in regards to counterintelligence issues or the overseas travel ofFinCEN staff and FinCEN sponsored contractors.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for administration of a security system for an organization with a highly sensitive mission, including: recommending resources and equipment necessary for effective program operations.
Prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinates the preparation, presentation and communication of work-related information to the supervisor.
Advise and assist management officials in determining the impact of security considerations on their operations and security measures required to meet their operational objectives.
Prepare directives, guides, notices, and other correspondence to define and communicate security program policies and procedures.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience:
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes:

Overseeing compliance with security policies or procedures; AND
Overseeing the implementation of physical security processes and ensuring that protective security measures are being employed correctly; AND
Conducting research on security & safety related issues via contacts and making formal recommendations.
