    This position is located in the Office of Protection Services (OPS), Business Operations Division, Smithsonian Institution (SI). The employee serves as the primary content manager for internal communications for Smithsonian Office of Protection Services on behalf of senior leaders to keep staff informed of important information and to further organizational goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops and executes internal communications and oversees the development and execution of an internal strategic communication plan that identifies long and short-term goals and objectives.
    • Develops recommendations that significantly modify OPS’s programs or policies; integrating diverse points of view in a communication plan in establishing and maintaining mutual understanding with various public agencies.
    • Develops, executes, drafts, and distributes official online and printed internal communication campaigns to distribute and distribution information and products; devises creative ideas to educate, engage, and promote that maximize the use and impact of digital signage content.
    • Provides consultation to directors to support the total management efforts, and attends agency management meetings to provide input on policy and program development.
