This position is located in the Exhibits Department of the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES). Overall, the incumbent’s primary purpose is to provide leadership and oversight for identifying and implementing projects that highlight the American Latino experience by drawing on the research, exhibitions, and collections of Smithsonian museums and units as well as with the many exhibitors and SI Affiliates with whom SITES has long established relationships.Learn more about this agency
- Engage directly with venues to advise them in the development of bilingual public and educational programming.
- Create and maintain reasonable timelines and budgets for project development to design, fabricate, market, and circulate proposed exhibitions by working collaboratively within SITES team structure
- Seek out projects that encompass the diversity of cultures in the United States and that draw attention to the rich history and traditions of Latino communities.
- Identify, research, and investigate topics for traveling exhibitions related to the American Latino experience.
