Duties

Help
  • Write, Staff, and adjudicated personnel policy for revision and reissue of G-1 Army Regulations , DA Memos, and DA Pamphlets to ensure regulatory compliance of these publications.
  • Develop proposed policies and conducts review of existing policies regarding personnel management of all Army personnel.
  • Develop, prepare and coordinate written products including, but not limited to: presentations, information papers; decision papers; and inputs to reports.
  • Examine the content of documents for clarity and length, and organizes the material structurally in terms of the order of sentences, paragraphs, sections, and findings to improve the presentation.
  • Determine the level of complexity in writing and editing.
  • identifies missing coordination, ensures consistency between subject and format, and ensures that the style, reading-grade level, and distribution are appropriate to the publication intended audience.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes writing and editing publications for policies regarding personnel management; performing editorial review of executive-level correspondence; maintaining awareness of current Government writing requirements; providing information on graphic material for presentations; discussing changes to documents/presentations with senior leaders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

  • This position is a TERM position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of six years. This position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
