The GSA OIG operates as an autonomous entity within GSA under a presidentially appointed, Senate confirmed Inspector General who supervises a diverse team of over 300 professionals in headquarters administrative, legal, and operational components and in regional operational offices throughout the country.
The GSA OIG is dedicated to protecting the public interest by bringing about positive changes in the performance, accountability, and integrity of GSA programs and operations. Oversight is provided through auditing, inspections and evaluations, and investigations of GSA's extensive procurement, real property, and related programs and operations, which primarily support other federal agencies. OIG oversight components report their findings and recommend courses of action to promote efficiency and economy in the GSA's activities. During this reporting period, our audit and investigative efforts yielded more than $310 million in recommended financial savings and investigative recoveries. This work included pre-award audits that examined 29 contracts with an estimated value of almost $2.2 billion and recommended that more than $204 million of funds be put to better use." Acceptance of course equivalences extend only to those courses recognized by the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI). Please note: If you have a current FAC-C Level II or III or a DAWIA level II or III certification, your training is fully qualifying for GSA's Mandatory Training requirement.
Waiver: GSA’s Senior Procurement Executive may grant a temporary waiver of the mandatory training and/or education requirements. Approval of such a waiver requires completion of the training and/or education requirements within the approved timeframe.
Specialized experience requirement for GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is performing the full range of pre-award and post award activities utilizing various types of contracts such as fixed price, requirements type, performance based and multiple award schedules for the acquisition of services and/or commodities.
Basic Requirements for GS-1102-13:
To qualify, you must meet the following Basic Requirements for the GS-1102-13.
Exception: Employees in GS-1102 positions will be considered to have met the standard for positions they occupy on January 1, 2000. This also applies to positions at the same grade in the same agency or other agencies if the specialized experience requirements are met. However, they will have to meet the basic requirements and specialized experience requirements in order to qualify for promotion to a higher grade, unless granted a waiver.
