    OIG is organized into three line elements: the Offices of Investigations, Audits and Evaluations, and Healthcare Inspections; along with the Office of Contract Review, the Office of Management and Administration and the Office of Special Review. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 30 cities throughout the country.

    The Human Resources Specialist (Employee Relations), located in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Management and Administration, Operations Division is responsible for the operational support and management advisory services to OIG headquarters and field organizations consisting of an employee population of approximately 900.

    Responsibilities

    As a Human Resources Specialist (Employee Relations), you will:
    -Develop policies, regulations and procedures related to all forms of communication and counseling necessary to maintain effective relations between management and the workforce.
    -Evaluate current practices within the OIG against successful techniques in private industry and other Federal agencies.
    -Participate in the development and presentation of training courses and other training tools to develop communication and counseling skills for management and personnel specialists.
    -Provide program direction in the area of alternative dispute resolution.
    -Provide advice and assistance to proponents of such programs as alcohol and drug abuse employee assistance, drug testing, health promotion program, workplace violence and standards of ethical conduct.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - Travel nationwide under tight deadlines. The incumbent should anticipate frequent walking and standing as a component of this travel.
