Duties

Help
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies procedures and tools.
  • You will manage the operation of the Shipyard's automated data processes (ADP) Security Branch, which provides on site and centrailized ADP Security support services to all Shipyard Departments.
  • You will ensure all proposed automated data systems contain adequate safeguards for protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the data contained therein.
  • You will provide technical services for computer security planning, design, development and implementation.
  • You will manage staffing levels and work assignments to effectively determine workload prioritization and scheduling.
  • You will promote security awareness issues among management and ensure sound security principles and posture are reflected in the organizations' vision and goals.
  • You will serve as security technical advisor to the Information Resource Management Division (IRMD) Manager on matters pertaining to suport for the department's ADP computer security needs.
  • You will monitor the compliance with regulatory requirements for all automated data processes.

  • You will be required to obtain the Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level III certification within 6 months of employment.
  • You will be required to obtain the Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level III certification within 6 months of employement.
  • You will be required to sign the Information System Priveleged Access Agreement and Acknowledgement of Responsibilities Statement.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Administering an IT security program to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas as well:
1) Attention to Detail; 2) Customer Service; 3):Oral Communication; 4) Problem Solving.
