    Summary

    The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to serve as Writer-Editor.

    Responsibilities

    As a Writer/Editor you will be responsible for performing the following duties:

    • Acts as the Agency's leading source for the correct use of composition, grammar, punctuation, and language.
    • Edits written material to ensure that it is well organized and grammatically correct, and that sentence structure and choice of words is clear, simple, appropriate, and unambiguous.
    • Proofreads draft and final copy; reviews final copy for print accuracy and quality, and facilitates corrections or approves proofs.
    • Develops, writes, reviews, and revises booklets, forms, fact sheets, tax notices, participant correspondence, marketing, education, and other informational material that is distributed to participants (and potential participants) through a variety of media, including the agency website, social media, briefings or presentations, etc. Proposes new topics, publications, or other educational materials based on discussions with Office, Agency, or contractor staff or in support of new initiatives.
    • Crafts social media content to educate participants about saving for retirement through the agency's defined contribution plan.
    • Develops specifications for print projects that include detailed information about quantity, description, deadlines, and distribution. Ensures that specifications are developed and quotes for the project are obtained well in advance of final production.
    • Participates in the identification of target groups and solicitation of participant feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of the Agency's communication programs and initiatives.
    • Coordinates communication projects with Agency staff and representatives from the public and private sectors, as required.
