Summary

The Naval Air Systems Command is seeking candidates with distinguished scholastic achievement in bachelor and graduate degrees in computer science to fill Computer Scientist positions in NAVAIRs Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratories.

This Public Notice is issued under the Department of Defense's Distinguished Scholastic Achievement Appointment Authority for STRL to recruit and hire individuals with undergraduate or graduate degrees possessing distinguished scholastic achievements.

Qualifications

For DP-02: Successful completion (or will complete within 9 months) of an accredited bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, or bachelor's degree or higher with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.

For DP-03 Additional education requirement for DP-03 Computer Scientist positions: Successful completion (or will complete within 9 months) of an accredited master's or higher degree in computer science or a directly related curriculum that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies required to satisfactorily perform DP-03 Computer Scientist work.

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
