    This position is located in the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG), Office of the Deputy Inspector General for Administrative Investigations (DIG-AI.) As an Investigative Support Specialist, GS-1801-12, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:

    Responsibilities

    • Perform life cycle investigative support management of complaints including intake, analysis, electronic and hard copy records management, status tracking and reporting, monitoring corrective action and case closeout.
    • Review incoming complaints and establishes electronic and/or hard copy records, enters data into case tracking system and routes complaint appropriately.
    • Perform quality reviews of case files at case closure examining thoroughness, completeness, organization, documentation and data to ensure compliance with DoD OIG and other relevant standards.
    • Maintain investigative records, ensuring security, retention and disposal consistent with DoD OIG and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) policy and regulation.
    • Process Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for investigative records in accordance with Agency guidelines and timeframes.
    • Monitors incoming and outgoing Congressional correspondence.
