Summary

Advancing CNCS' strategic goals through focused activities.
Contributing to executive-level policy initiatives, including development of new programs, and strengthening high-level stakeholder partnerships.
Supporting select projects across the agency based on CNCS' priorities and your skills and interests, including: program management, research, writing, editing, data analysis, event planning, supervising student interns, and public speaking engagements.
Gaining in-depth insight into the operations of a federal agency, including interacting with and possibly traveling on behalf of CNCS.
Supporting national service participation on the ground during disaster response and recovery, as necessary.
Developing management abilities through training and mentoring with Eli's family and colleagues, as well as executive leaders in federal government and the non-profit world.
Participating in the Eli J. Segal Citizen Leadership Program, a national network which aims to inspire, support, and enable new generations of leaders (http://segal.brandeis.edu/).

Qualifications
Qualified applicant will meet A or B:
A. Be currently serving a full-term of service in AmeriCorps State and National, AmeriCorps NCCC or AmeriCorps VISTA, provided the service is completed within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. (Members who terminate their service year early to participate in the Fellowship are not eligible to apply, even if they have already successfully completed one service year previously).
B. Successful completion, within the last 3 years of: 1,700 hours of service in AmeriCorps NCCC or AmeriCorps State and National or one year of service in AmeriCorps VISTA.
An exemption from the 3 year provision may be made for:
AmeriCorps Alum who was enrolled in full-time studies at an accredited college/university; active duty military service or other full-time national service, e.g., Peace Corps, that occurred within one year of completion of AmeriCorps service.
Completion of another national service program, at the discretion of CNCS. (Evidence must be provided that documents such service and of enrollment within one year of the completion of AmeriCorps service).
