Duties

Help
  • You will perform technical support for the research and development, testing and manufacturing of energetic materials and related systems.
  • You will provide cost estimates on potential upgrades and system improvements for both labor and materials.
  • You will coordinates interdivisional and interdepartmental efforts in regards to designing, installation and the maintenance of production equipment, environmental test chambers, and related systems.
  • You will prepare and review drawings, schematics, ladder logic diagrams, blueprints and technical literature to document or explain the sequence operation of process equipment.
  • You will perform inspection, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of a diversity of electronic and refrigeration equipment including but not limited to vertical and horizontal extrusion presses, mixers, nitration equipment and test chambers.
  • You will direct the activities of other technicians and provide training and advice to lower graded personnel.

Qualifications

For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing techincal engineering guidance in the research, development, testing or manufacturing of complex electrical systems used in the production of energetic material.

For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing techincal engineering support for the research, development, testing or manufacturing of complex electrical systems used in the production of energetic material.
