    About the Position: The office is one of full responsibility to develop, plan and design Healthcare related projects. It is a team environment to include internal and external customers. It is a people-oriented environment that demands excellence in customer service. Applicants are expected to communicate clearly and be in responsible charge of their projects. The applicant will gain a sense of satisfaction by preparing designs, costs and plans for Health Care facility-related projects in a large military medical center. Project Statements of Work (SOW) will be competitively competed in the marketplace. Flexibility is required to keep pace with shifting command priorities. The Applicant will complete project work in a timely manner to support the Medical Center's mission. He/she will prioritize and ensure that the right projects are completed to optimize the healing environment and functionality of the medical center.

    Responsibilities

    Initiates, coordinates and effectively communicates plans for all Medical Facilities within the Command to all applicable contacts. Establishes, reviews and evaluates project requests and hospital requirements. Coordinates and develops concepts, design criteria relative to future projects with Architectural/Engineering firms. Reviews and coordinates budget estimates, preliminary plans, final plans, specifications, and design analyses received using responsible department staff personnel. Responsible to allocate space throughout the MTF. Assigns space on a fair and equitable standard according to overall need. Coordinates, implements and tracks all moves as decided by the Space Management Board. The work requires significant initiative and ingenuity to develop criteria for facility layouts and to evaluate suitability to meet Command mission objectives. Coordinates all moves for the Command while assuming responsibility for liaison with staff and tenants. Develops and manages interior design projects from inception to completion, initiates interviews with department customers, analyzes existing facility features, and researches sources as issues involve space, layout, economy, physical, functional, psychological fire, safety and related factors, selection of color schemes, architectural finish materials and all furnishings. Furnishings include wall coverings, signage, furniture and accessories.
