    This position is being filled under Direct-Hire Authority for Financial Management Experts. DoD OIG has delegated authority by the office of the Secretary of Defense to directly appoint qualified candidates possessing a finance, accounting, management, or actuarial science degree, or a related degree for an accredited college or university in a field of study, or equivalent experience, related to the functions if the positions to be filled. Positions may be filled as permanent or term with a full-time or part-time work schedule. Pay will vary by geographic location. We reserve the right to close this announcement early or to extend, as appropriate, based upon the needs of the Agency. Qualified applications packages may be referred to management at various points in the selection process depending on the number and timing of applications received Selections may be made at any point during the announcement open period.
    This is an open-continuous announcement and will be used to fill vacant positions of grades, GS-11, GS-12, and GS-13 with a target grade of GS-13, in the following locations: Alexandria, VA, Cleveland, OH, Columbus, OH, Denver, CO, Philadelphia, PA, Indianapolis, IN, or Yorktown, VA.

    Referral lists may be requested to fill positions for any location and entry-grade throughout the life of the announcement. Cutoff for receipt of applications will be midnight on the date that the referral list is requested. Applications received after the cutoff date, may be considered on future referral list.

    No referral lists will be processed before May 1, 2018.

    The minimum base salary for this position at the GS-11 step 1 is $53,062 through the minimum base salary of the GS-13 step 10 is $98,317. Pay scales varies by locations.

    Responsibilities

    At the GS-11 level:
    Research applicable laws, directives and other regulatory material to gain audit knowledge.
    Utilizes fact finding techniques to gather audit data.
    Performs audit work within established guidelines.
    Assists in producing comprehensive reports of audit data collected.
    Utilizes audit data to evaluate results and recommend solutions.
    Assists in developing drafts and final segments of audit reports.
    Maintains security and accountability of classified information.

    At the GS-12 level:
    Research applicable laws, directives and other regulatory material to gain audit knowledge.
    Develop and contribute to audit guides.
    Independently performs audit work within established guidelines.
    Produces comprehensive reports of audit data collected.
    Utilizes audit data to evaluate results amd recommend solutions.
    Develop drafts and final segments of audit reports.
    and accountability of classified information.

    At the GS-13 level:
    Research applicable laws, directives, and other regulatory material to gain audit knowledge.
    Oversee a team of auditors and other staff to ensure proper application of audit techniques.
    Articulates and communicates to assign teams the audit project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, deadlines and timeframes for completion.
    Represent team in dealing with supervisors or managers for the purpose of obtaining resources and securing needed information or decisions on major work problems and issues that arise.
    Resolve simple, informal complaints of employees and refer others, such as formal grievances and appeals, to the supervisor or an appropriate management official. Communicate team consensus and recommendations to supervisors on actions affecting team and individual awards, rewards and recognition.
