    The Security and Emergency Planning Staff (SEPS) directs the Department of Justice (DOJ), according to Department of Justice Order 2600.2D in government-wide policies and initiatives pertaining to physical security, emergency preparedness, personnel security, litigation security, and information assurance.

    Responsibilities

    The incumbent of this position serves as a Security Specialist responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining department wide policy and security programs, as well as coordinating and administering the physical security operations program. The incumbent is responsible for executing the functions and exercising the authority of the Attorney General and Department Security Officer in administering the security regulations prescribed by laws and Executive Orders. The incumbent is primarily concerned with the identification and Credentials Sections, which is responsible for issuing document certifications, identification badges, and credentials. In addition, the incumbent is responsible to assist senior specialists in maintaining and operating the Department's automated access control system (AEGIS).
