Duties

Help
  • Manages the complete lifecycle of IT equipment including desktop/laptop/thin client computers, monitors, printers, peripherals, and limited specialized software.
  • Identifies requirements for new hardware/software, oversees the installation and maintenance, and management of warranties, service and other manufacturer support for IT equipment.
  • Analyzes customer service call metrics, data and surveys, reviews user requirements; and develops options to maximize return on investment.
  • Performs market research, benchmarking or cost benefit analysis, evaluates products for compatibility and compliance with existing equipment, systems and environment.
  • Assists with managing incorporation of new client-based IT equipment and systems to ensure minimum disruption to operations and optimum customer support.
  • Manages component accountable IT property accountability, ensuring application of DoD and Federal controls and policies; develops and manages spreadsheets for non-accountable property accountability.
  • Serves as Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) on client-based hardware maintenance contracts, ensuring that contract requirements are met and resolving problems with performance.
  • Interacts with contractors regarding equipment repair, systems installations and upgrade.

  • Information Assurance Manager Level I certification.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade ?GS-12 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: managing the lifecycle of IT systems or equipment; developing and communicating written materials concerning IT systems; managing IT property accountability; or managing IT equipment warranties, service, and other manufacturer support.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
