At the Army Brigade level, the employee serves as the protocol officer for Area Support Group-Qatar (ASG-QA) and as required provides protocol support for tenant units on Camp As Sayliyah. Responsible for formulating, developing, coordinating, and executing functions of the Protocol office and performing advisory and liaison duties. Responsible for conferences, official breakfasts, luncheons, and dinners; Commander ASG holiday receptions; official receptions; changes of command, honors, promotion and award ceremonies; private dinners; and special meetings hosted by Commander ASG-QA; to include scheduling, planning, coordination and execution of itineraries, proposing guest list, seating arrangements, receiving line composition, procurement and placement of ceremonial accouterments, suggestions on menu selection, supervision of menu preparation and serving, arrangements for escorts and interpreters, security, emergency medical contingency plans, public affairs coverage, and arrangements for entertainment. Serves as the focal point for coordination on matters pertaining to protocol for general officers, American and foreign dignitaries, members of foreign militaries, heads of state, ambassadors, royalty, and other political leaders. Plans, directs, coordinates, executes and supervises the conduct of visits to ASG-QA by general officers, foreign delegations at the general officer level, and distinguished civilians of equivalent rank or higher, most of which are at the four star level.
