As a Dentist (Prosthodontics), duties include but are not limited to:
Serves as a prosthodontic specialist responsible for the diagnosing, treating, rehabilitating.
Rehabiliatative modalities can include, but are not limited to restoration with crowns, fixed dental prostheses, complete dentures, removable dental prostheses, osseointegrated implants, and all ceramic restorations.
Conducts extensive prophylaxis treatment, performs deep scaling and root planning and leads group oral health counseling, tobacco cessation counseling, and diet counseling.
Responsible for the timely submission and accuracy of performance data, dental records, consultation requests and other dental records in approved information management system.

Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
A pre-placement medical examination is required.
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Advanced certification (e.g., Advanced Life Support) does not supersede BLS completion.

Basic Requirement for Dentist (Prosthodontics):

Education: Applicants must possess Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Completion of a 3-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science; or have equivalent experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12), and/or training. Experience is defined as performing all phases of prosthodontic dental care including skills such as, but not limited to, diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of oral function and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes.

Residency: Applicants must have successfully completed an advanced specialty postgraduate residency program approved by the American Dental Association (ADA), or accepted equivalent program, in Prosthodontics.

Education
