As the CMS Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will also serve as the Director of CMS's Office of Information Technology. You will enable the CMS strategy and services, as the individual responsible for the technology to make it all possible. This includes Medicare Medicaid, CHIP, and the Federal Health Insurance Exchange (HealthCare.gov), and you will work closely with the teams who deliver those services. You will serve as the thought leader and principal advisor to the agency leadership team on technology - both how it is evolving and how it can enable health care system modernization. You will lead information technology management and modernization for the most significant healthcare payer in the United States, assuring the accuracy and security of sensitive health utilization and payment information for more than 100 million Americans.
